Wrexham is a county borough in northern Wales. It covers parts of the traditional counties of Denbighshire and Flintshire. It is named after Wrexham, its main town, has a population of 130,000 inhabitants. Other places in the borough include Gwersylt, Ruabon, and Chirk.

The county borough was formed on April 1, 1996. Most of the area was previously part of the Welsh district of Wrexham Maelor - with a few areas coming from Glyndwr.
