Vincent D'Onofrio

Vincent D'Onofrio (born June 30, 1959 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American character actor.

He studied acting at the American Stanislavski Theater in New York. He first got attention by gaining 70 pounds for his role as the disturbed and bullied Private Pyle in Full Metal Jacket. He also received an Emmy nomination for his appearance as John Lange, the doomed accident/murder victim in the acclaimed "Subway" episode of Homicide: Life on the Street.

He now plays a principal character on the TV show Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

D'Onofrio was married to actress Greta Scacchi from 1991 to 1993. The couple have a daughter Leila.
