In Greek mythology, Ocalea (or
Ocaleia) was the wife of Abas and mother of the twins Proetus and Acrisius.
"Ocalea" is also a genus of rove beetle. The group has
representaives on the mainland of Europe, on Great Britain, on North America (British Columbia and perhaps other locations), and on New Zealand.
