Elisabeth (biblical person)

In the first chapter of the Book of Luke in the New Testament, Elisabeth (אלישבע "My God is oath", Tiberian Hebrew ʾĔlîšéḇaʿ / ʾĔlîšāḇaʿ, Standard Hebrew Elišévaʿ / Elišávaʿ) is named as the mother of John the Baptist.
