The elevation of a geographic location is its height above sea
level or some other fixed point. A topographic map shows
variations in elevation by contour lines.
In drafting, an elevation is a two-dimensional orthographic projection of a structure. Exterior front and
side elevations are typically part of architectural drawings of buildings.
In ballistics, the elevation is the angle between the horizontal plane and the direction of the barrel of
a gun, mortar or heavy artillery.
"Elevation" is a track on Television's
1977 release Marquee Moon.
