The Czech national football team is controlled by the Czech Football Association since 1901. It was renamed Czechoslovak Football Association in 1922-1993 for the Czechoslovakia national football team. In the Czechoslovak period the national team achieved its best results so far, including two runner-up finishes in World Cups and a European Championship win. After the partition of Czechoslovakia, the association renamed itself The Football Association of the Czech Republic (Czech: Českomoravskı Fotbalovı Svaz).
