At the Battle of Tippecanoe (November 7, 1811) the forces of General William Henry Harrison attacked and defeated the forces of Tecumseh at Prophets Town on the Tippecanoe River in
Indiana.
Modern revisionists claim that the troops under Harrison's command murdered numerous Native American civilians, and classify these actions as
war crimes.
"Tippecanoe" was used as a nickname for William Henry Harrison, referenced by the campaign slogan "Tippecanoe and Tyler too."
