Attacker is a term used in computer security to
refer to a malicious agent whose goal is to compromise the security of the computer system.
An attacker need not necessarily be a human (i.e, a cracker) -- it can also be a program,
such as a virus.
Compare with the term adversary in cryptography.
In some sports, an attacker is a specific type of player, usually one
whose role involves aggressive play.
