Andres Bonifacio (November 30, 1863 - May 10, 1897) was a
leader in the revolution of the Philippines against Spanish colonial rule, the first revolution in Asia against European colonial rule. In 1892 he founded the Katipunan revolutionary secret
society, which would later become the core of the Revolutionary Philippine Army.
In the Katipunan, he held the title of Supremo, and later on, founded a Revolutionary Government (Pamahalaang
Mapamaghimagsik).
As the revolution ended, an election was held in Tejeros, Cavite, in Emilio Aguinaldo's mansion, and whose participants were
solely from Cavite. Mr Aguinaldo won as President, and the Supremo fell to the position of 'Director of Interior'. Mr. Bonifacio
contested the results, and Aguinaldo ordered his men to execute Mr. Bonifacio together with his brother.
